- This game is infamous for its slowdowns. It runs at 60 FPS, but often slows down to 30 FPS. The game doesn't skip frames, it just slows down to half speed which is very noticable.

- Finally, after completing the first level, I realized that this is basically R-Type II with some alternative levels thrown in. It is a nice looking version of R-Type II, but the slowdown is really annoying.
- In Novice mode, you retain your power-ups after death.
- Level 3 boss tip: full charge to the eye.

- That level 5 is a real bitch. Not so much the level, but that I have to restart every time I die to the boss... Grr...
- Completed the game on Novice difficulty. Whoa, I just completed levels 5-7 on the first try without dying. I guess all the practice yesterday had taken hold.
- Completed the game on Novice difficulty using 0 continues (MiSTer). I'm warming up for R-Type Final 2 by playing a bunch of different R-Type ports on the MiSTer. Novice difficulty in this game is easy enough that I could just run through it on my first attempt.
